巴氏合金的正常顏色是無光澤的銀白色，若出現白黃色，說明合金溫度過高，質量差。若黃色較重，應重新澆鑄。用銅質小錘沿軸瓦表面順次輕輕敲打，正常時，發出清脆的聲音。當發出濁、啞雜音時，說明合金與底瓦粘合不好或有裂紋、孔洞等。澆鑄表面若有深度大于加工余量的大氣孔、裂紋或澆鑄不完全等現象，要重新澆鑄，在加工過程中，可進行補焊后，再加工。澆鑄好的軸瓦，經過機械加工和刮研，就可以完全恢復原來的幾何形狀和尺寸配合的性質。
